I've only ever travelled through Holyhead en route from Ireland to the UK and back, but I walked around the town a bit with my dog on this trip, and the area around the B&B was nice enough. Beyond that I really can't say as yet, but I'll definitely return.

Not much in the Pier area, very residential.
Not much in the Pier area, very residential. Expect to walk a lot, crossed bridge to City Center for the amenities we were looking for, food & historic sites. 2 days were enough to stay before heading to Dublin on the Ferry.

booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship.
booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship. holyhead itself has little to nothing to offer tourists but as a base to visit other parts of Anglesey its fine. holyhead seems like its been abandoned by the council and needs money spending on it, all the locals we met were lovely and they deserve more.

We visit Holyhead regularly as we travel a lot by ferry. So are usually only there overnight. Busy little town, but normally head for a B & B so do not know town very well, although it looks fine.

No busses or taxies. ( found one by chance when they were collecting a customer late afternoon)No information regarding about restaurants close for meals between 2pm - 4pm. Had to walk to hotel. As not informed about kitchens close at 2pm, our first meal was at 4.30 which we had to walk to . Amazing fish and chips at the local chippy. No interesting sights . Would have been better to have passed through directly to Cardiff.
First of all, I congratulate the owner for providing a beautiful, tasteful and scenic holiday home. The suggestions given by former guests were treated seriously. The labels for the cutlery ( including plates) were done. The instructions for opening the indoor windows were permanently displayed. Most important of all, the electric heater provides
consistent warm temperature for the whole room and I do not have to shiver in the cold ,winter nights.Truly a memorable and comfortable stay.
Kay is the kindest, most amazing, charming lady. We had no idea we were about to stay at a house of someone with such a great energy and lovely spirit. Kay really helped us when we needed to postpone our ferry and let us stay at hers for another night.
Her breakfast buffet is immense and we were nibbling on it throughout the whole day. Something I would appreciate hotels would accommodate! Thank you again for the wonderful experience!
It was a nicely refurbished quaint hotel. Even though the power went out 2 hours after our arrival the entire staff stayed with us until much after the anticipated time to come back on. They finally fixed us a cheese sandwich as it was storming outside & we didn’t want to find an open restaurant in another grid. This property has a wonderful staff. It’s close to the ferry dock for anyone crossing from Holyhead.
The room was easy to find, the staff was very helpful in assisting me arriving very late (past midnight) to enter my room. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, with all the amenities you would expect in a hotel. There was plenty of choice for breakfast provided in the room, which allowed me to leave quickly to get to Folkstone to take the eurotunnel.
Hotel is in a good location but is very old-fashioned and in need of a revamp for the £110 bed only we paid, in comparison to other hotels and B&Bs we've stayed in, in Holyhead before or after catching a ferry.
We arrived at 830pm but were told kitchen was closed and chef (who was still there) was n/a to even offer a sandwich. Kitchen closes at 9pm.
Absolutely loved my stay here! The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. There were also so many thoughtful touches everywhere. The owner, TJ, was fantastic. It's obvious she loves what she does and loves showing visitors the beauty of Holyhead and Wales.
I'd love to come back one day!
I am from America and am hiking the Wales Coastal Path. I have stayed at several places during my visit and The Haven is by far the best. The room was clean and fresh. The owners paid attention to details that make the room comfortable. I highly recommend it.
The owner was extremely accommodating and gave us a ride from the ferry (and very late at night) and took us to the train station in the morning. She was great. The room was also nicer than most bed and breakfasts we had been staying at.
The room was very clean, had a convenient location and the most important thing was that the man who ran the hotel was above and beyond helpful with my taxi rides. I am very grateful for the stay and for the help. Thank you!
Perfect stay for anyone getting the ferry to/from Holyhead. It was cheaper than the hotels and has free, secluded parking. Food and drinks are provided for breakfast which was very useful. Checking in and out was very easy
The hotel/pub is situated very close to the railway station and the ferry to Ireland. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly. and the breakfast was as good as it gets.
Good choice of breakfast and good amount. David and Debbie always willing to chat and recommend places to visit. Good location to explore Anglesey and close to main road for trips further afield.
It was clean and comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Within walking distance of Holyhead harbour and south stack. A good base for anyone wanting to explore Holy island.
the room was comfortable, & clean, dinner & breakfast options were good, host was friendly, free drink on arrival, help yourself, honesty system for drinks/snacks. Close toHolyhead ferry
Checking in was easy and very friendly. Matthew was most helpful. Room was clean and comfortable ..Comfy beds. Good food in restaurant. Ten minutes away for Holyhead ferry to Ireland.
Its very close to Holyhead port, perfect for us after a tiring overnight ferry. It was simple to get in and very clean. Claire the host communicated with us very well.
Location of hotel is across from the entrance to ferry terminal. Great time saver. Bar facilities on site. Staff great and helpful. Breakfast was fine to get us going.
